Is a premiere cultural event with dance, music and food from many countries throughout the world.  Held annually in Middletown, Ohio, USA, Middfest has celebrated a different country each year since 1981.

Celebrating the Netherlands in 2007
Middfest International will bring the people, cultural diversity and art of the Netherlands to Middletown for the entire region to enjoy.

Like other countries, The Netherlands is confronted with complex problems. It faces up to these challenges head-on and looks for meaningful solutions that are sometimes ground breaking.
  • When people think of The Netherlands, they envision windmills and tulips, and in fact, since the 16th century windmills have been used in reclaiming land.
  • Everyone living or working in The Netherlands is covered by its social insurance system. The Dutch government encourages older people and the the long-term unemployed to find jobs, some of which are state funded.
  • If necessary, nurses will provide health care at home. Thanks to equal tretment legislation the disabled can now play a full part in society.
  • The Netherlands has contributed much to promoting the international legal order. The country has played an important part in the European Union's development.

    Middfest International Volunteer Summer Party
    From 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm, meet at the Towne Mall parking area, at 5pm, across from Frazolies to be taken as a group to the mystery destination. Transportation will be provided.

    Take a trip with the organizers of Middfest International to discover what's behind the bamboo curtain. All volunteers and volunteer wannabes should be dressed for adventure in casual attire with outdoor walking shoes.

    The mystery trip will include good food, amazing entertainment and new information as the planning months continue for 2006 Middfest International in the discovery of China and her culture.

    Bring a friend and join the fun. RSVP is very important to accommodate for transportation. Call 513-425-7707 or email middfest@siscom.net. A $15 donation for food is appreciated.
